Zambia goes down again on FIFA rankings

ZAMBIA has continued its free-fall on the FIFA Coca-Cola rankings, stooping to a record 88th place with their adversaries in Group F Cape Verde leaping to 41st slot on the global charts.

According to the latest FIFA rankings Zambia has hit the near all-time lowest ebb since the ranking system was introduced in 1993.

The Chipolopolo have had a patchy start to their Morocco 2015 campaign picking up only one point out of a possible six with only an inconsequential 3-1 win  over Sudan on August 31.

Cape Verde, who top Group F on maximum six points, have moved from 74th position to 41st and will be feeling bullish about their status as a fast emerging powerhouse in African football.

The Blue Sharks rise came after their 2-1 home win over Zambia and 3-1 away victory over Niger on September 10 and 6 respectively.

Zambia – now 21st in Africa – is third in Group F on one point, one behind Mozambique who are 109 in the World.

Niger who occupy bottom place in Group F have gained two points on the ranking at 107 in the World.
