Chief Ishima’s installation halted in Zambezi District

Senior Chief Ishindi of the Lunda people in Zambezi District has postponed the installation of Isaac Kaping’a as Chief Ishima of the Lunda people of Zambezi East in North Western Province.

This follows a petition filed in the high court by aspiring family members of the Kaluluma family.

The Kaluluma family has challenged the ascendance of Mr Kaping’a to the throne of Chief Ishima.

Senior Chief Ishindi disclosed this during the installation of Village headmen on Saturday.

He however said initially the village headmen conducted a poll and Mr Kaping’a scooped the seat with 40 votes while his challenger, Mr Kaluluma got four votes.
