The hour has come for all progressive opposition political parties interested in serving Zambia from the harsh leadership of the Patriotic Front government to join and form a strong movement of an alliance, says Zambians for Empowerment and Development president Dr. Fred Mtesa.
In an interview with the Daily Nation, Dr. Mtesa said that the opposition was committed to serving Zambians by working together as an alliance.
Dr. Mtesa warned that parties that wanted to work alone would be isolated soon before 2016 as their agenda was not in the best interest of the people of Zambia.
“We are a matured opposition and we have a strong opposition whose agenda is to work with others to ensure that we run a strong opposition to offer credible checks and balances.
It is not Mtesa, Kaingu or Hakainde Hichilema Hichilema but the people of Zambia. ” said Dr. Mtesa.
He said that the Zambian opposition was vibrant and equal to the task, adding that those who thought that the opposition was dead should be reminded that Zambians expected maturity from those seeking leadership.
