Fire Kabimba says Syakalima

It is an insult and highest form of arrogance for Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba to pretend ignorance of the tribunal appointed to investigate him, says Former UPND Siavonga Member of Parliament Douglas Syakalima.
Syakalima said that demanding that Zambians should write to Kabimba if they wanted him to resign his ministerial position following the establishment of a tribunal to investigate his conduct was an insult and a disregard of the rule of law.
He said that such levels of arrogance only showed his true character and Zambians should question the character and integrity of the PF government and that of Kabimba.
Douglas Syakalima has now called on President Michael Sata to immediately fire his Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba who is facing a Tribunal for breach of oath of secrecy and abuse of authority and office in the same manner he had been suspending Judges who are being investigated for professional misconduct by other Tribunals.
Syakalima, the special advisor to UPND president Hakainde Hichilema said Kabimba should stop telling Zambians that those who were calling for his resignation should write to President Sata and himself.
The UPND official said Kabimba had been caught in his own schemes of intimidating and interfering with the independence of the Judiciary and time has come for him to answer for his transgressions.
Syakalima said Kabimba was feigning ignorance about the existence of a Tribunal to probe him over allegations that he had converted government legal advice rendered to him in his capacity as Justice Minister by Solicitor General Musa Mwenye into private use for his political party.
“Kabimba is being a nuisance and his level of arrogance is making Zambians angry. How can he tell Zambians that those calling for his resignation should write to him? Who is he to tell Zambians that? Kabimba is not holding an elective position and he must learn to respect citizens. He is at the altar and has no right to tell Zambians what do about his facing of the Tribunal. And let President Sata fire him the way he has done with the Judges. Before the Judges Tribunal was established, Sata suspended the Judges and we expect him to do the same with Kabimba,” Syakalima said.
