President Michael Sata has been blamed for the confusion that has rocked the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) and has been accused of not being courageous to stem cadres impunity, resulting into the death of Moses Simuwela, Frank Bwalya has said.
Fr Bwalya alleged that it was in the schemes of President Sata to destroy the vessel he used to ascend to the presidency because he had no use for it as he had achieved his ultimate goal of getting to State House,” Frank Bwalya has said.
And Fr Bwalya has charged that the public scolding and humiliating of ministers and other senior government officers by President Sata should be stopped because his conduct had become a security risk to the presidency.
Fr Bwalya who is president of the Alliance for Better Zambia (ABZ) said President Sata had decided to destroy the vessel he had used to ascend to the presidency because he had no use for it after realizing his long political dream.
The ABZ leader has explained President Sata was of the belief that should he decide to run for the second term, he would not need the party’s symbol of the boat as he had government machinery at his disposal.
He told the Daily Nation that the Head of State was of the view that it was enough for him to have public funds, public media and donations from some unscrupulous business men to win elections in 2016.
“President Sata who is also the president of the PF has decided to destroy the party because he has no use for it having used to get to State House. He wanted to use the boat to get into State House and now that he has achieved his ultimate goal, he has no use for it. He is allowing the destruction of the party because he is of the belief that should he decide to run for the second term, he will not need the party but state machinery, public funds and state media to win in 2016,” Fr Bwalya said.
And the ABZ leader has President Sata has been scolding and insulting his ministers publicly because he was of the view all the ministers and senior government officials owed it to him (Sata) for what they had become in their political lives.
Fr Bwalya said the Head of State was of a strong belief that had it not been for his personal efforts and sacrifice to form the PF and make it a popular political party, his ministers and senior government officials would have been languishing in poverty.
“President Sata is publicly insulting and ridiculing his ministers and senior government officials because he knows no one can resign. No minister can challenge his outbursts and authority because they are vulnerable. It is like these government ministers have found themselves in a situation where a witch doctor administers medicine on a patient and saves his life. Then the witch doctor begins to abuse the man saying had it was not for him, he would have died and he has no say,” Fr Bwalya said.
He said President Sata was feeling beleaguered and that he was sad that he had failed to government the country to the expectations of the general citizenry.
Fr Bwalya said the anger President Sata was displaying against his ministers was as a result of his inability to have full control of the presidential powers to make independent executive decisions.
“The frustration in his heart is too much and as a result, he is taking it out on innocent ministers and senior government officials like Yamfwa Mukanga. The conduct of Sata humiliating and insulting his ministers and other people has become a security risk to the presidency and the earlier he realized the better for the country. What Sata does not realise is that many of his ministers today were wining in areas where he (Sata) when he was in the opposition,” Fr Bwalya said.
