Police arrest Ngambela Sinyinda

Police in Mongu yesterday arrested immediate past prime minister of the Barotse Royal Establishment Clement Sinyinda in connection with Barotse secession issue.

According to reports obtained by the Daily Nation, the former past prime minister (Ngambela) was arrested and moved to remand prison in Mongu by Zambian Police.

Sinyinda is currently at Mongu Remand Prison and is expected to be moved to Mwembeshi prison to join fellow Barotse-secession charged people currently facing treason.

According to sources, Sinyinda was accused of raising money to buy arms, as well as being in contact with Afumba Mombotwa; the fugitive ‘Administrator General’ of Barotseland.Currently, over 71 Barotse activists are in detention.
