Mkaika burns!

The Chitambo Constituency lawmaker, Malama Mushili, was only rescued from his captors after the close of voting.
Former Ambassador to Japan Joe Mwale was attacked but saved by Mulusa while Jeremiah Phiri, and the older brother to PF candidate David, Mikil Phiri sustained severe injuries from the beatings and are admitted to St Francis Mission Hospital.
During the violence that broke out in the Katete district polls, notorious Patriotic Front (PF) thug Lis Mangwalala lost his arm after it was severed following his attempt  to axe Andrew Banda; a son to former president Rupiah Banda.
According to Mkaika police officers and the MMD leadership, the incident happened at Matanga Ward where PF thugs went on rampage beating and abducting opposition members.
The officers said that Andrew was abducted and taken to an unknown destination by PF thugs headed by Lis Mangwalala and started beating him but before they could axe him, a fight ensued with opposition MMD youths who came to Andrew’s defence.
“These PF boys with their ring leader Lis Mangwalala abducted Andrew and beat him up. So, this other group followed in a bid to rescue him but upon arrival a fight ensued and he had his arm amputated. They cut his arm with an unknown weapon,” said the officer who described the atmosphere as life threatening.
He said that earlier, PF thugs bundled Andrew in their vehicle and dragged him to police where they ordered the police to detain him as they claimed that he was a thief who was on a police wanted list in Lusaka for various criminal activities.
And MMD deputy national secretary Chembe Nyangu confirmed the development with the Daily Nation in an interview from a place where he had gone into hiding in Kadula Ward.
Nyangu said that some senior party official in Katete and some police officers informed him about some PF thugs armed with unknown weapons trailing him for his blood.
“Some of the officials informed me that I should not get out of where I am hiding right now. These PF thugs are after my blood for unknown reasons. They are fighting and beating people here. The situation is not alright. They want to win the seat at all cost,” said Nyangu.
By press time, both MMD youth and police were still searching for the abducted people.

  1. Mphangwe says:

This is indeed a country that is transforming into a kind of ancient barbarism.

In a civilised state the world expects a government to uphold the rule of Law and thus protect all established citizens of that country. A state President, who swore his allegiance to uphold the constitution of a country was expected to use constitutional security bodies to effect the defence of the constitution and protect all its citizens.

The Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Home Affairs, Police, DEC and ACC are all expected to enforce practical interpretation of the Law to protect the most vulnerable of the country’s citizens with outmost fairness.

But alas! The above institutions are in the fore-front in spear-heading the torture of the people.

WE ASK GOD TO HEAR OUR PRAYERS.
