UNITED Party for National Development chairman for labour Percy Chanda has said the Patriotic Front government will not achieve anything in its fight against corruption because it is using corrupt people and corrupt means to fight the scourge which had become so widespread from the time PF formed government.
Chanda said corruption had become so rampant under the PF government because it was using corrupt people and corrupt means to fight the scourge which had adversely affected the vulnerable people in various communities.
Chanda, who is former PF Kankoyo Member of Parliament, was speaking in Ndola yesterday when the UPND held a meeting to discuss various issues relating to the party and to welcome defectors from PF and ADD.
“When PF says it is fighting corruption, it is mere political rhetoric; I mean they want to thrive on the ignorance of some people. I can tell you that PF has no ability to fight corruption and it will not achieve anything in its fight against corruption, if anything, corruption has gotten worse from the time formed government.
“PF cannot fight corruption because it is using corrupt people and corrupt means to fight corruption. K20 milion went missing at the United Nations-World Tourism Organisation Conference and this was revealed by the Auditor General’s Report,” Chanda said.
And Copperbelt UPND provincial chairperson Elisha Matambo has advised the PF leaders to stop plundering national resources because they would face the wrath of the law once voted out of government.
