RB mourns 9 UPND road accident victims

Former President Rupiah Bwezani Banda has expressed deep sorrow at the death of nine UPND members who perished in a road traffic accident in Luangwa on Sunday.

In a statement by his deputy administrative assistant Kennedy Limwanya, the former head of State also commended all political parties that have suspended their campaign for the June 20 Luangwa parliamentary by-election in honour of the victims

Mr Banda said that although death unified people, politicians should not be waiting for tragedy to unite them.

“As I mourn with those that have lost their beloved in this terrible accident, I wish to implore my fellow Zambians to learn to love one another and unite as members of one big family called Zambia,

“Why should we be waiting for the arrival of death before showing our humanity? It’s my prayer that we shall continue being united,” said Mr Banda.
