UPND president Hakainde Hichilema has vowed that he will never stop fighting for the poor people of Zambia regardless of the intimidation, insults, threats and humiliation he is receiving from the Patriotic Front (PF) government and some sectors of society.
Mr. Hichilema said that his quest to serve Zambians from suffering at the hands of the PF was the only thing his party UPND would fight for.
He said that UPND means well for the poor people of Zambia because the party and its leadership understood the needs of the people unlike the PF government whose interest was to make quick and corrupt money.
“It pains to see people suffering at the hands of the PF government. The fight to serve Zambians from suffering at the hands of the cruel PF government is the only thing we in UPND are fighting for,” Mr. Hichilema said.
“Regardless of how they threaten, treat, intimidate, insult and humiliate me, I will never stop fighting for the people because UPND means well to you people. UPND has good policies to improve the lives of many Zambians. Subsidy is part of good governance but the PF has removed that,” he said.
Mr. Hichilema was speaking in Kazungula when he drummed up support for the UPND candidate Kingsley Mutema in the Sekute local government by election in the area.
