PF,UPND share seats

The ruling Patriotic Front (PF) has won the Kapiri Mposhi parliamentary by-elections held yesterday amid reports of rampant breaching of the electoral code of conduct by the ruling party.

It is not known for how long the PF is going to hold on to the seat because of reported widespread violations of the electoral code of conduct by its members.

Police arrested a man who was  found with K13 million cash which he was distributing to voters so that they  could vote for  a particular candidate. The man is from outside Kapiri.

UPND has already confirmed that it is going to  petition the Kapiri elections result in the courts of law.

In the Lukulu parliamentary by-election UPND is reported to have won  the seat by more than 2,500 votes at the close of voting amid reports that the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) was stiff scared to officially announce the result.
