21 recruits injured in accident

TWENTY-One Zambia Police Service recruits at Kamfinsa School for Public order maintenance are admitted at Kitwe Central Hospital (KCH) with multiple injuries and fractures after a Toyota Spacio ploughed into them on Friday night when they were on route march.
The 400 recruits, who were expected to graduate in April, this year where on the route march near Kamfinsa mission school when the Toyota Spacio ploughed into them on Friday night at 23.50hours.
The driver of the Spacio is on the run, but Home Affairs Deputy Minister Stephen Kampyongo who visited the injured recruits, said officers would launch a manhunt for the driver who is on the run.
Mr Kampyongo said the injuries caused to the recruits were a setback to the ministry of Home affairs and the entire country especially that the country needed a lot of officers to maintain law and order in the country.
