Investigate Wynter

The Consortium of Seven (7) Civil Society Organisations has challenged the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to investigate whether the Aircraft used by the PF Secretary General, Mr. Wynter Kabimba, to travel to Livingstone  was hired or not.
On behalf of the consortium, FODEP executive director Mac Donald Chipenzi said they were demanding for an explanation if the Aircraft was either hired by the Party, himself or provided by Government to drum up support for the PF candidate. Mr Chipenzi said the Electoral Code of Conduct, Regulations 21 (k) clearly stipulates that only the President and his Vice can use Government or parastatals transportation or facilities for campaign purposes.
And Mr Chipenzi said the Consortium was calling upon all political parties taking part in the Livingstone Central By-Elections on March 14 to abide by electoral regulations and instructions given by ECZ on the conduct of by-elections in Livingstone.
He noted with sadness the continued abuse of public resources by government officials during bye-elections.
