UPND to request medical board

Opposition UPND will soon write to the Chief Justice to constitute a medical board to consist of doctors to examine the health of Republican President Michael Sata.

This was announced yesterday by UPND former Member of Parliament for Siavonga Douglas Syakalima who said that the manner in which President Sata was doing things was questionable.

Mr. Syakalima said that the recent actions by President Sata were a serious source of concern which should attract the provisions of the constitution to constitute a medical board to examine the status and stability of the head of state.

He said that going by the recent conduct of President Sata it was only time that Zambians through their parliamentary representatives’ demand for the medical board to be constituted to check and determine his suitability and stability to hold the office of the President before he does worse things.

Mr. Syakalima said that Zambians had in the past tolerated President Sata’s frequent constitutional breaches and conduct because they thought that he would change but that now it was clear that he might create chaos for the nation at the rate he was moving.
