Sata secretly appoints 2 new deputy ministers

President Sata is reported to have secretly appointed two deputy ministers into his government contrary to his campaign promise in which he pledged to reduce the size of government.

According to unconfirmed reports President Sata has appointed Mfuwe Member of Parliament Mwimba Malama as Deputy Minister for Lands, and his Nkachibiya Constituency counterpart Davies Mwango Deputy Minister in the Office of the Vice President.

Some PF MPs told the Daily Nation that  Mr Sata did not want to make public announcements over the appointments as he had already failed to honour his promises. The MPs  said that it was sad that Mr Sata was taking the country backwards by doing things that he condemned.

They revealed that despite Mr Sata having a huge number of ministers, he was determined to appoint more because he has plans to realign some ministries to accommodate the new appointees. The MPs said the President was also looking for MPs to be appointed deputy ministers in the ministries of commerce and finance.
