Zanaco plans for CAF league

ZANACO Football Club says it will face its opponents with determination for positive results when CAF Champion’s league starts early next year.

Coach Keagan Mumba said that he intended to sign some local players currently with the national team because they can add value to Zanaco‘s continental competition.

“We need to sign some local players who are part of the national team that will prepare in Saudi Arabia for AFCON finals next year in South   Africa “said Mumba.

He said that Zanaco has a huge task to take on great teams with great players on the continent who have dominated the African club championships.

Mumba said that the best way to achieve results against these teams will be to form a formidable team of charges capable of containing any pressure.

He has already entered  into an agreement with national team central defender Chintu Kampamba who is presently clubless for a place in ZANACO.

He said that Kampamba has agreed on the terms to join Zanaco if he doesn’t get a new contract in South Africa where some clubs have shown interest in him.

Zanaco has retained only 20 of the players who participated in FAZ league last season and  bank management has given him task to recruit 13  more players for 2013 .

Mumba said that the club was willing to sign any player the technical bench will submit before January.

He said that the bankers would like to sign players next month because in January they will be in camp preparing for continental and FAZ premier league for 2013 edition.

Mumba said that former Nkana FC striker Reynold “Sate Sate” Kapamba who is in Switzerland to sign a professional contract with one of top clubs, was on his mind for 2013 season.

“I really wanted to sign Kapamba but now he is gone to Switzerland where he is expected to sign a contract with one of the country‘s top clubs,” he said

Mumba said that though it was not his first time to guide the team to the CAF Champions league, it will be a different feeling under Zanaco.

He guided Zimbabwe‘s Dynamos in CAF champions league between 2000 and 2004 seasons and won the league back to back in a foreign land.
